The Abbey Gate College Chapel Choir has had a busy end of term performing four times within a week this month.

The first engagement for senior members of the choir was at Chester Grosvenor Hotel where they were invited to close the December meeting of the Chester Business Network Group by singing a selection from their Christmas repertoire.

This followed sixth form members taking part in the networking meeting and eating lunch with a range of business leaders from across the region.

St Helen’s Church in Tarporley was the venue on Friday December 11 as the choir performed at a Christmas Celebration in aid of Tarporley War Memorial Hospital.

Tuesday December 15 was the evening of the college’s annual Christmas carol service at Chester Cathedral.

Swelled by ex college students, the choir numbered more than 80.

Finally for 2015, the choir has been invited to lead the carol singing at Cullimore Dutton solicitors, who this year are hosting the corporate event for all Chester solicitors.

The choir has also performed its annual Evensong at St.Paul’s Cathedral and three Evensongs at Westminster Abbey this year.

Director of Music Mr Stewart Smith thanked all of the students for their hard work and dedication throughout the year.

In July they will embark on their annual tour which this year begins in Belgium to sing at the Menin Gate in Ypres, continuing on to the Rhineland to perform a number of other concerts in Weisbaden , Koblenz and Altenberger.
