BUNBURY Primary School has appointed a new chairman of governors.

Walter Done has taken over from long- serving chairman Mike Thomas.

Mr Done was born in Bunbury and went to the school from 1946-51 and had a career in Cheshire’s education department.

He says his first task is to help raise the funds to replace the mobile classrooms.

Mr Thomas was chairman of governors for eight years and had seen the way the school has been run change markedly during his time.

Governor Geoff Vickers said Mr Thomas has been key to the school’s ongoing success.
