A man has been left with a serious injury after a Bullmastiff dog jumped up at him and bit his hand.

The victim was walking with a friend in the area of Stanley Road and Lime Street in Ellesmere Port at around 4.10pm on Thursday, July 7, as two men walked towards them with two dogs on a lead.

One of the dogs attacked the victim, before its owner - described as tall, of white descent and possibly wearing a white top - apologised and walked away.

Now police want to trace the owner and to speak to anyone who may know him or who witnessed the incident.
