BT Broadband customers in Chester are into their second day without an internet connection.

Homes and businesses in Chester south, including Handbridge, Saltney and Westminster Park, are still offline on Thursday (November 25).

Customers first reported problems from about 7am on Wednesday.

The provider initially said the issue would be sorted by 4pm, then 6pm before the problem ran over in to Thursday.

Deadlines of 7.55am and 11.30am have now passed, with the latest update estimating to get users back online by 6.30pm.

Flintshire County Council Saltney and Stonebridge councillor Veronica Gay said: "It's just unacceptable.

"I feel sorry for the businesses in Saltney who are having to deal with this, it's a huge thing to lose two days of work.

"Without a connection I can't chase up important emails, I'm trying to work off my phone and through Facebook."

BT Infinity and Fibre Voice services are said to be affected.

A BT statement said: "We're really sorry but we've got a problem at the moment in the Chester South area, which means that some of our customers will be having trouble getting online.

"We're trying to fix the problem as quickly as we can."
