A tuneful pair of classical singers are on a mission to make opera ‘accessible for all’.

Emily Burnette and Sophie Rohan are Belle Voci, a Chester-based vocal duo currently in talks with a major record company.

With performances at Bolesworth International and Liverpool International Horse Show already under their belts, they are hoping to bring their music to an even larger audience having just secured funding for their debut CD.

Emily, from Malpas, and Sophie, a former Queen's School pupil from Tarporley, are now pursuing Belle Voci full-time, after quitting their jobs at Bunbury pub The Yew Tree Inn where they met and bonded over their shared love of singing.

Former Abbey Gate College pupil Emily said: “We are a fresh and exciting vocal duo, presenting a diverse repertoire of well-loved operatic, classical and musical theatre duets and arias.

“We provide bespoke entertainment for weddings, functions and corporate events, delivering honest and powerful performances that will bring elegance and class to every occasion.

“We want to make opera accessible for all; to have a CD out by the end of 2017 and to do a UK tour to launch the CD.

“We could not be happier, nor could we have predicted we would be at this point in our Belle Voci career in just over a year.”

Belle Voci will be performing at Piste in Tarporley on August 7.
