THE boyfriend of a Chester teenager killed in a collision has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Rick Bromley, 20, from Chester, was driving the silver Vauxhall Corsa that collided with a tree in Guilden Sutton on Monday, June 24.

He sustained only minor bruising in the incident and stayed one night in the Countess of Chester Hospital.

His girlfriend, 19-year-old Claudia Ella WIlliams, of Pipers Lane, Hoole, Chester died at the scene.

The travel and tourism student, a former Guilden Sutton Primary and Christleton High School pupil, was coming to the end of a three-year course at West Cheshire College.

A week after the collision, on Monday, July 1, Bromley was arrested and later released on police bail pending further enquiries.

The couple had spent the evening with Claudia’s father Nigel, and sisters Mathilda, 10, and Madeline, 17 at the Old Trooper in Christleton.

They were on their way to Claudia’s grandmother’s house on School Lane when the accident happened at around 9.40pm.

Claudia’s heartbroken mum Andrea said: “We are going to miss her so much. Our lives will never be the same without her. She’ll be forever in our hearts and always live on with us in our memories.”
