Former IBF World Bantamweight Champion Paul Butler will perform a free-to-watch public work-out in his hometown at the Port Arcades Shopping Centre on Saturday, October 11.

The Ellesmere Port hero is building-up for his next big fight at the Echo Arena in Liverpool on Saturday, October 25 when he will feature on a huge multi-title show alongside fellow Merseyside stars Liam Smith, Derry Mathews, Kevin Satchell and Tom Stalker.

Butler hopes this will keep him active ahead of a rescheduled world title shot against IBF World Super-Flyweight Champion Zolani Tete.

Big-hitting ace Butler, undefeated in 16 fights with eight KO’s, will be put through his paces in an action-packed work-out by his trainer Anthony Farnell.

Butler said, “It’s fantastic that the Port Arcades Shopping Centre have thrown their support behind my fight at the Echo Arena and that they will be hosting my public training session.

“I’m an Ellesmere Port lad through and through and I’m looking forward to meeting with the fans who have backed me in my career towards winning the world title.”

Also putting on a performance for the fans will be Ellesmere Port’s next big boxing star in the making, undefeated pro Matty Fagan, plus future boxing talents from the Wirral Amateur Boxing Club.

Butler and Fagan will meet with the public, sign autographs and pose for pictures and there will also be a fantastic opportunity to win a pair of tickets to the Echo Arena show and a pair of signed boxing gloves signed by Paul Butler.

Michelle Pickstock from the Port Arcades Shopping Centre commented, “The centre is absolutely delighted to able to show our support to Paul as he prepares for his forthcoming fight by hosting this event here. Paul is a real icon within the community and we wish him every success.”

The event takes place on Saturday, October 11, at The Port Arcades, from 11-4pm.
