A SALON owner says an energy firm’s failure to locate an underground cable fault has hit her in the pocket in the run up to Christmas.

Joanna Foye, who owns Foye hair salon in Christleton Road, Boughton, is furious that she’s lost revenue and been forced to cancel appointments due to three power cuts in less than a month.

The most recent power loss occurred on Monday, December 20 between 10am and 1pm. Prior to that there was a power cut on November 26 from 4.30-11pm and December 10 between 4.30pm and 5pm.

She said: “They should have located the problem by now. We could go off at any time.

“It’s not just the businesses, it’s houses as well. It’s detrimental to everybody.

“We’ve had to cancel appointments. We’ve lost revenue and customers haven’t had their haircuts.

“We’ve had to try to fit them in best we can, but we’ve been fully booked.

“Christmas is when everyone wants to get their hair done and look lovely.”

A spokeswoman for Scottish Power said they had been monitoring the site but had difficulty in tracing the underground cable fault.

She added: “Engineers are currently on site carrying out tests in the substation today (Thursday, December 23) in the hope of locating the problem area and fixing the problem tomorrow (Christmas Eve).

“Scottish Power would like to apologise to customers for any inconvenience caused.”
