UP TO 30 new jobs will be created when a new convenience store is built in Tattenhall.

The new eco-friendly building, planned for Field Lane, opposite Tattenhall Recreation Club, will be occupied by The Co-operative, and will provide much needed car parking as well as employment opportunities.

The Bolesworth Estate has applied for planning permission at the site, which will be available for all residents in the village to use as a car park, as well as those using the sports facilities.

Nina Barbour, director of the Bolesworth Estate, said: “We are delighted as an estate to be working with The Co-operative whose food ethics and responsible approach to retailing and farming is something that I feel is the perfect fit with my vision for Bolesworth.

“This is a great opportunity to improve the sustainability of Tattenhall as a place,” she added.

The Bolesworth Estate is running a public consultation event on Wednesday from 2-7pm at the Barbour Institute, where representatives from The Co-operative, Bolesworth Estate and architects NWdesign will be available and plans for the new building will be on display.
