A body has been discovered in the canal locks near Malpas, police have confirmed.
The man’s body was found by a member of the public in the Grindley Brook Locks at around 9.40am today (Monday, December 22).
Police cordoned off the section of the Shropshire Union Canal and investigations are ongoing.
The incident is not being treated as suspicious, say West Mercia Police.
Any witnesses or anyone who has any information is urged to contact 101 quoting incident number 135 of December 22.
