YOUNGSTERS at schools across Blacon have been taking part in a green scheme to reduce litter and get involved in recycling.

Year 5 and Year 6 pupils of St Theresa’s, The Arches, J H Godwin, Dee Point and Highfield schools enjoyed the littering/recycling workshop, where they designed posters to promote the importance of recycling and picking up litter and dog fouling.

Prizes including art kits were given to the best designs, donated by councillors Reggie Jones, Carolyn Graham and Marie Nelson.

The workshops had been put on by Blacon’s Avenue Service via its community safety wardens.
