AFTER six years of working from The Parade, the Blacon Furniture Project has moved to a brand new showroom at Blacon Community Trust’s main premises in the Dee Point Centre, Blacon Point Road.

With The Parade under redevelopment, the relaunch of the furniture project is aiming to bring a new lease of life to the community-based charity.

Pam Bleasdale, trust manager, said: “The Blacon Furniture Project has been at the heart of the community for many years.

“It was created by BCT to provide support and an affordable furniture reuse service for locals in Blacon and those on limited income across Cheshire West.

“We have really enjoyed our time at The Parade and will be sad to leave behind the many locals who regularly come in to the shop.

“Moving the shop into our Dee Point premises will strengthen the ties between the trust and the local community so we can deliver better services through our furniture shop, the kids community club and BYPP, our young people’s project.

“Blacon Community Trust would not be able to deliver our services without a dedicated team of employees and long-standing volunteers.

“We hope with the opening of the new furniture shop, we can increase awareness of the varied services that BCT provide for the residents of Blacon and the opportunities for people to increase their skills by volunteering with us.”
