Delays affected Blacon bus services earlier today (Monday, February 29) after one bus got stuck, causing a bottleneck on a main road through the housing estate.

An Arriva bus became grounded on Blacon Point Road during the afternoon, partially blocking the carriageway meaning other buses couldn't get through.

Competitor firm Stagecoach warned of delays on Twitter due to what it referred to as 'extraordinary circumstances'.

Stagecoach laid on an additional service that bypassed the affected section of the route. However, the disruption did not last long.

Toni Bradley, who captured the incident on camera, said on Facebook : "It looks like it (the Arriva bus) mounted the curb and has banked itself on the path and cannot reverse or drive."

Some residents have blamed inconsiderate car drivers for not parking close enough to the kerb making it difficult for buses to get past under normal circumstances.
