A CHURCH of England school has achieved strong A-level results.

The Bishops’ Blue Coat CofE High School overall pass rate increased to 99.5% this year.

Headteacher Robert Haigh said the average points score per student had improved and 56% of students achieved A and B grades in their results.

Hannah Burkett, 18, of Chester gained three As and a B and will go to St Martins College in London to do an art degree.

Anna Thompson, 18, of Ellesmere Port achieved four straight A grades and scored 100% in many of her examination modules. $will now study history at Durham.

Laura Ford, 18, of Great Boughton also got three A grades.

Susie Donaldson, 18, from Little Sutton gained two A and two B grades and will now progress to a nursing degree course.

Lindsay Venables, 18, of Little Sutton also achieved two As and two Bs and John Stone, 18, of Great Sutton obtained the A and two B grades he needed to study biology at Manchester University.
