A MALPAS high school has proved it has brought the wider world into the classroom by scooping the International School Award for the second year running.

Bishop Heber High has won the prestigious award for promoting an international dimension in the schools curriculum.

Headteacher David Curry said: “We are delighted to receive this award for the second time as it recognises the hard work done by staff, students and parents in continuing to provide a wealth of International experiences which support our curriculum and underpin the ethos of the school.”

John Rolfe, manager of the International School Award at the British Council, said: “Many congratulations to all the schools across the UK who have been successful in the International School Award. We are very grateful to all the schools for their excellent commitment to the enriching, creative and innovative international dimensions of teaching and learning.”

The award is now made available worldwide in countries such as India, Sri Lanka, Egypt, Lebanon, Cyprus and Pakistan as part of the British Council Connecting Classrooms programme.
