A motorcyclist was airlifted to hospital following a crash with a car in Saltney Ferry yesterday, May 24.

The accident, near Cop House Farm and the Saltney Ferry Bridge, closed the B5129 road at about 5pm.

North Wales Police warned motorists to expect delays in the area as diversions were put in place.

A spokesman for the Welsh Ambulance Service said: “The motorcyclist was flown straight to Stoke, which suggests major trauma.

“We also had a rapid response vehicle on the scene and an ambulance.

“The driver of the car was unhurt.”

A fire engine was also sent from Deeside to assist the other emergency services.

Following the incident, North Wales Police carried out investigation work between Saltney Ferry and Sandycroft.

Anyone with information is asked to call North Wales Police on 101, quoting reference number U075094.
