Four barristers from Chester are swapping the courtroom for the stage to try their hand at stand-up comedy.

Head of chambers at St John’s Buildings Sally Harrison QC, Frances Heaton QC, Samantha Hillas and David Watson will test their skills at the Contact Theatre in Manchester on June 22 at 7pm.

Their aim is to provide some laughs, shout down the hecklers and raise money for Headway, the Brain Injury Charity. The firm has chosen to support charity, that aims to improve life after brain surgery, throughout 2016.

Debra Jane Appleby will be MC for the evening and the four will be supported by two professional comedians so laughter is guaranteed.

Debra is a winner of the Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year and Funny Women Comedy Award.

Stand-up comedian, writer, actor, presenter and disability rights campaigner Laurence Clark will headline the evening. Laurence was born with cerebral palsy and uses his line of work to alter the general public’s perceptions of disabled people.

Tickets for the comedy night cost £20 and are available from the Contact Theatre Box Office or call 0161 274 0600
