Four fire engines had to be called out to a fire involving two barns in Upton today (Thursday, August 29).

It is believed the blaze started in a nearby vehicle before spreading to two barns which contained straw.

Fire crews were called to the scene, on Caughall Road, Upton, at 3.22pm and tackled the flames using one main jet and a hose reel jet.

The property is owned by Chester Zoo but is located away from the main site and no personnel, members of the public or animals were involved in the incident.
