BABIES and toddlers in Helsby have enjoyed jumping and bouncing to raise money for charity.

For a week, children at Badgers Barn Day Nursery on Chester Road, Helsby, have played on cartoon themed bouncy castles to raise money for Barnardo's.

Despite the pouring rain the 0-four-year-olds dressed up as ladybirds, dogs and cats and spent their days bouncing on the giant inflatables.

Parents and friends sponsored the children per bounce, and with some of the toddlers bouncing for hours on end the pre-school is thought to have raised hundreds of pounds for the charity.

Angelina Wheeler of Badgers Barn, said: “It has gone really well. The children have all really enjoyed going on the bouncy castles.

“Some of the children are wearing animal costumes including pyjamas with animal patterns on them, all to support raising money for Barnardo’s.

“It has just been fantastic, I know that all the parents have really wanted to have a go, but we have had to stop them.”

Staff at the nursery are currently collecting in the sponsorship money for the big bounce, which is thought to have raised hundreds of pounds for Barnardo’s.
