MEMORIES and photographs are being sought for a new book on the history of Delamere Park.

Its writers are seeking people's recollections of the park during the Second World War through to its time as a base for members of the Polish community.

Delamere Park served as a military camp during the war, firstly for the British and later for the Americans, and then it was used as temporary accommodation for families awaiting the completion of a nearby housing programme.

The majority of them were the families of former members of the Polish army who were unable to return to their homeland.

Mark Bevan, of CC-Publishing, said: 'We have gathered together some fascinating material and we thought we would give people the opportunity to contribute.'

Anyone with information or photographs of the park during this era can contact Mark Bevan on 01829 741651 or e-mail him at editor@cc-publishing.co.uk
