ASHTON Hayes Theatre Club is showcasing a rare opportunity to see an Alfred Hitchcock classic on stage.

Tarvin Community Centre has been hosting the performances of The 39 Steps by Patrick Barlow, an hilarious adaptation which has enjoyed enormous success in the West End since 2006, winning best new comedy and two Tony Awards.

It has been available for amateur performance for a number of years but sadly has now been withdrawn.

However, Ashton Hayes Theatre Club applied for the licence just in time so there is still the chance to see it locally.

Ashton Hayes Theatre Club has been going from strength to strength over the last few years. The group’s 2011-2012 season scooped nine nominations and three winners at the Cheshire Theatre Guild Awards including Best Costumes, Best Young Performer and The Adjudicators’ Award for Achievement.

The play will be performed at Tarvin Community Centre at 7.45pm tonight (Thursday), tomorrow and on Saturday.

Tickets, priced £7 for adults and £5 for children, have been selling fast. To book, call Yvette on 07707 830286 or Steph on 01829 752394.
