FREE arts courses are available to Cheshire residents.

The Harthill Trust are offering classes in sculpture, painting and storytelling during 2011, and will provide tuition and support, as well as materials.

The Willow Art Course, which begins on February 17, will teach small groups how to create semi-abstract sculptural forms in living willow on the theme of Fantastic Habitats & Hillforts, which will be displayed permanently on site.

Four one-day courses are available at Mickerloo Art Gallery, Burwardsley, on February 17, 18, 19 and 20.

Lovers of literature will appreciate a two day storytelling course on the theme of Wartime on the Ridge, led by Johnny Gillet, better known as The Journey Man storyteller, on May 21 and 22 at the Harthill Trust, Harthill.

And for those looking to develop their painting skills, a beginner’s course in landscape painting will equip you with all the necessary skills needed to create a successful landscape painting using acrylics on to canvas.
