Two 32-year-old men have been arrested after drugs raids in Neston this morning (July 28).

Police officers executed a search warrant at an address on Shakespeare Road as part of the ongoing Operation Impact.

One man was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class B drugs, while the other man has been arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class B drugs.

The pair are currently being held in police custody where they are helping officers with their enquiries.

'Corrosive effect'

Chief Inspector Sarah Pengelly, from Ellesmere Port and Neston Local Policing Unit, said: “The corrosive effect that drug abuse and associated criminality has on our communities is well known, and we are committed to tackling the problem and targeting those involved.

“Operation Impact reinforces our commitment targeting those people that undermine our communities and bring misery to residents through their involvement in organised crime and illegal drugs."

A police presence in the area will be stepped up following the raids to reassure residents.

Anyone with any information in relation to drug use and supply in the community is urged to get in touch with police on 101, or information can be reported anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
