A BURGLAR who stole cash from a countryside pub is being hunted by detectives.
At around 8.15am on Monday (September 12), Cheshire Police were called to the Malt Shovel Inn on Liverpool Road, Neston.
The thief entered the pub via an insecure door, donning a balaclava and armed with a small silver coloured baton.
He assaulted the licensee's wife by punching her in the face before demanding access to the safe and stealing cash takings and jewellery.
