Police are appealing for information following a serious assault in Chester in the early hours of last Friday (September 19).

Two men were in the city centre when they were approached by two unknown males about 4.30am in Upper Northgate Street.

An argument broke out and as a result of a punch the victim fell to the ground where he was then kicked in the head.

The casualty suffered two fractures to his jaw which required hospital treatment.

Police describe the offenders as white men, aged around 18−19 years old and of average build.

One was wearing a distinctive white t-shirt with the number ‘86′ on a chest pocket. The second offender is described as wearing a t-shirt with grey stripes.

Police are appealing for witnesses in the area at the time who may have seen the incident or have information that could be helpful.
