ANIMAL lovers from Cheshire are being invited to a garden centre in the county this month to find out how to re-home or sponsor a dog in need.
Representatives from dog welfare charity, Dogs Trust will be at Tarporley Garden Centre in Cotebrook on October 28 and 29 to give visitors information on how to re-home or sponsor a furry friend.
Sally Nash, assistant manager of the Mobile Re-homing Unit (MRU) for Dogs Trust, said: “We will be visiting Tarporley Garden Centre with our ‘dogmobile’ to talk to visitors about our local re-homing centres and give advice on all the responsibilities associated with dog ownership.
“We will have two pooches with us from our re-homing centre in Liverpool who will be looking for new homes. If people are interested in either of them, they will need to go to the centre to meet the dogs and if all the family is happy, the staff would arrange a home visit.
“All prospective new owners have to go through our rigorous re-homing procedures before being able to re-home a dog from Dogs Trust.”
Sally added: “If people aren’t able to re-home a furry friend they can always sponsor one for just £1 a week.”
