ANGRY residents are demanding answers after a lift serving their flats broke down five times in little more than a week.
Firefighters had to rescue people from the lift at the Glyn Garth high-rise block off Nevin Road, Blacon, five times between Saturday August 12 and last Sunday, August 20.
Crew Manager, Chris Rodaway, said: 'The residents there are concerned about the conditions of the lifts and we have had several call-outs to people stuck.''
Resident Tom Cooke has now written a letter of complaint to Chester and District Housing Trust.
He said: 'Glyn Garth residents are paying for this lift to be in operation 24 hours but it never is.
'It's getting annoying that we are paying for a service that is not being provided.'
Philip Jones, Executive Manager of Property Investment at Chester & District Housing Trust, said: 'The trust would like to take this opportunity to apologise to all tenants who have been inconvenienced by the situation.
'The trust repairs team are currently doing everything they can to get the lift at the Glyn Garth flats up and running.'
