AN ALTERATION was agreed to planning permission for an extension at a village school.

The new build, involving a classroom and lobby/WC extension had permission at Clutton Church of England Primary School on Broxton Road, Clutton in May this year, according to a report.

Agents for the school argued an extension was needed due to the popularity of the school and pressure on teaching space.

The school governors told planning officers at Cheshire West and Chester Council they wished to reduce the width of the extension so that it would not be located immediately adjacent to the boundary with 25 Broxton Road. The design would otherwise remain unchanged.

Planners suggested the amended scheme would not be unduly different from the previously approved development.

They recommended the application should be approved as a fresh planning application was not required. This was agreed.
