ALDFORD School pupils have been studying the ancient Egyptians.
To enhance their studies the J3 pupils visited the exhibition Tutankhamun, His Tomb and His Treasures in Manchester.
There they learnt about the story of Howard Carter and his discovery of the tomb and they viewed his burial chamber with all of the artefacts exactly as they were found by Carter.
The children were amazed at the size and beauty of four golden shrines, each of which had been decorated with Egyptian hieroglyphics. They also saw the famous burial mask of Tutankhamun.
They also sketched the artefacts and listened to audio guides.
