A trial date has been fixed for a driver charged in connection with the death of a cyclist from Guilden Sutton.
Polish national Damian Niepieklo, 22, has already admitted causing the death of Alan Desmond Cronin, 60, by careless driving on the A483 near Rossett in June.
Niepieklo will be sentenced for that offence at Mold Crown Court on October 2.
At Mold crown court earlier this month he denied a charge of causing death by dangerous driving. The charge was dropped by the prosecution.
Niepieklo now faces further charges of failing to stop and failing to report an accident following the fatal crash.
He appeared at Wrexham Magistrates’ Court, via video link from prison yesterday, Wednesday, September 2, where a trial date for those charges was set for the same venue on September 15.
He accepts he was aware he had been involved in an accident but says he did not realise he had hit a cyclist before driving off.
The collision involving the defendant’s Fiat Ducato van and Mr Cronin’s bike happened on the A483 northbound carriageway near the Rossett fly-over on June 11 this year.
