Police have made a fresh appeal for witnesses to the fatal collision that killed Guilden Sutton cyclist Alan Cronin on the A483 near Rossett last week.

North Wales Police want anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward.

Alan, 60, a member of the Chester Triathlon Club, died following the collision at Junction 7 of the northbound carriageway near the Rossett flyover at around 2.23pm on Thursday June 11.

Police want to hear from anyone who may have seen a white Fiat Ducato van, with dark curtain sides, travelling northbound on the A483 last Thursday afternoon.

Chief Inspector Darren Wareing said: “I am appealing for anyone who was travelling north or southbound on the A483 and who may have seen the cyclist or a white Fiat Ducato van with a dark cover in the vicinity at the time of the collision to contact North Wales Police on 101 quoting incident reference S084345.”

Polish national Damian Niepieklo, aged 22 has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop and failing to report a road traffic accident.

He is due to appear at Mold Crown Court on June 26.
