Ever wondered who would win a race between a jet aircraft and Porsche supercar?

Airport chiefs at Oslo Airport decided to answer the question by setting up a face-off between an Airbus A320 and a Porsche Panamera, with a top speed of 150mph.

From a standing start the car and Airbus jet are neck and neck for the first 100 metres before one pulls ahead midway down the runway.

The action was filmed by airport tower staff member Morten Nesheim.

It was done as a stunt to be used in a documentary about life at the airport called OSL 24-7 to be shown on a Norwegian TV channel this spring.

The plane was a brand new Airbus A320 from SAS, with wings made at Airbus Broughton, and the car a new Porsche Panamera which is to be exhibited inside the new terminal building that has partially just opened at the airport.

The car is capable of accelerating from 0–100 km/h in 6.8 seconds while the average take-off speed for an A320 is 170mph.
