Weaverham Community Centre has secured funding through the Adactus Neighbourhood Fund for the second year.

The centre received £500 towards supporting their Holiday Sports Club. The club ran daily throughout the holidays, for free, for children in the area aged six-11.

The aim of the club was to ensure children in the area can engage in a social activity in a safe environment with the sessions being delivered by professional coaches. The sessions also promoted the range of facilities available at the centre through the rest of the year.

Stella and Len Bailey, staff at Weaverham Community Centre, said “It was a pleasure having so many well behaved children spending time with us having lots of fun during the summer break. This would not have been possible without the help of Adactus.”

Laura Reynolds, of Adactus Housing, added: “We’re pleased to have been able to support the centre for a second year. When I attended one of the sessions it was clear to see how popular the activities were and how much the children were enjoying it!”
