AS THE teenager accused of killing her son walked free from court, a mother has spoken of her pain at losing half her family in six months.

Jennifer Moor, of Little Sutton, was devastated when her son Andrew was killed outside a social club after attending an 18th birthday party in Aberdeen in March 2006.

And six months later her husband Jim, 65, died of a heart condition.

Last week, Craig Hobin, 18, was acquitted of killing Andrew, 33, a father-of-two, with a single punch.

The teenager said he had punched Andrew once in defence of his own father, Michael Hobin. The case was found not proven at Aberdeen High Court.

Mrs Moor said afterwards: 'It has been a dreadful year. Jim had been ill for 10 years but Andrew's death did not help.'

The High Court heard Andrew was struck by Craig Hobin after the Little Sutton man had become involved in an argument over football with another party-goer and Mr Hobin Sr stepped in.
