An abnormal load is slowly and ever so carefully making its way down the M56 .
The vehicle - which is most likely carrying one of the Frodsham Wind Farm turbines - joined the westbound carriageway at junction 9 and will leave the junction 14 turn-off at Hapsford .
Motorists are advised to expect delays, with the load travelling at around 40mph.
North West Motorway Police patrols are assisting.
Two lanes of the M6 northbound are also blocked and there is queuing traffic between junction 19 at Knutsford and junction 20 for the Lymm Interchange.
