Abbey Gate student wins vocal award from Chester branch of People to People Association

A CHESTER teenager will be presented with a music award at a concert tomorrow.

Abbey Gate College sixth former Edward Reid, of Tarvin, will receive the People to People Association vocal scholar award at the Chester/ Lakewood celebration concert at St Mary’s Centre.

The concert, at 7.30pm, will open with Simon Bate on trumpet.

Simon, of Waverton, was the winner of the Chester/Lakewood music exchange scholarship in 2009 and he will head to America later this month.

The 2010 winner is Harry Fox, of Higher Kinnerton, who is studying for a Masters degree at Trinity College, London.

Tickets are £7 (under 18s £4) on the door.
