STUDENTS at Abbey Gate and Aldford Schools have made a French connection.

Pupils from Year 7 joined junior pupils from J6 on a school trip to Rue in Northern France.

The youngsters practised speaking at a French market, a goat farm and a chocolaterie.

Pupils had a hands-on experience of French culture making a range of products including mayonnaise, croissants, bread and braided wheat hearts. The youngsters also got a taste of France by sampling snails and frogs legs.

Deputy headteacher Gavin Allmand said: “The pupils were a credit to themselves and the school. I have no doubt this will have a positive impact on their studies.”
