Musicians at Abbey Gate College have hit the high notes in their house music competition.

The 2016 event was won by Marmion House and judged by organist and music examiner Graham Eccles.

The competition was held throughout the day with the final in the evening to an audience of parents and pupils.

The highest score prize was this year shared between Ruby Hart and Toby Stanford who were awarded the Margaret Caven Music Salver.

Ruby sang Crucifixus by Rossini and Toby played Ballade No 1 on G minor by Chopin.
