Abbey Gate College A level students achieved another fantastic set of results this year. 

With more than 70% of grades at A* to C and a pass rate of more than 99%, all students were proud of their results.

But special mention must go to head girl Danica Astbury from Chester who achieved an A* and 2 As. Danica is going to read psychology at University College London.

Other notable performers were: Head boy Simon Povey achieved AAB and is reading politics at Durham.

Tim Laing  (AAB) is studying mechanical engineering at Liverpool.

Deputy head girl Francesca Shaw is studying biochemistry and biological chemistry at Nottingham University following her grades of AAB.

Deputy head boy Tom Thornhill who achieved AAB and is studying international relations with political science at Birmingham University.

Other high achievers include George Siddorn  (A*BB), Sophie Lenton (AAC), Ben Handley (ABB), Katie Tighe  (BBB) and Jessica Horsburgh (BBB).

The students achieved considerable success in achieving the university courses and career paths of their choice.

Headmistress Lynne Horner said: “I am very proud of the achievements of our sixth formers. They are a promising group of young people with diverse talents, as well as proven academic ability. I am sure each student will make a great success of their future and I wish them all the best.”
