A MOTORCYCLIST was hurt when their motorbike was in collision with a car on Tuesday morning, leading to the closure of a section of the A41.

The incident happened at about 7.45am and caused rush-hour traffic disruption as Cheshire Police officers closed the road south of the Broxton roundabout.

The collision between the silver Renault Clio, whose driver was from Wallasey, and the white Aprilia, led to the 30-year-old motorcyclist from Whitchurch being taken to the Countess of Chester Hospital by ambulance.

While there, he was treated for some broken ribs and a broken wrist.

The road was reopened at 9.06am.
