A camper van crashed into a bridge in Broughton this morning (August 12).

Despite signs warning that the bridge on Broughton Hall Road is 2.2m, the driver misjudged the height and their vehicle became wedged in.

A photograph from the scene showed the vehicle crumpled after it hit the bridge just before 11.20am.

The road, near Broughton Primary School, was partially blocked and police were alerted.

It is understood nobody was hurt in the crash.

It is not the first time that a vehicle has got stuck under the bridge. Just a month ago, on July 11, another motor home became trapped.
