CHEAPER energy is being offered to Weaver Vale Housing Trust homeowners to help them through the country’s coldest winter for more than 40 years.

Residents worrying over expensive fuel bills can relax after the trust announced it was working with non-profit energy provider Ebico to supply cheaper electricity and gas.

Sabine Isaac, money management officer for Weaver Vale Housing Trust, said: “It is really important that people feel able to heat their homes properly and keep warm during the cold weather without thinking about whether they can afford it.

“Some energy providers are causing unnecessary hardship for many people in Cheshire and all over the country by charging well in excess of what they should for their gas and electricity, which is why we are working in partnership with Ebico.

“We’re convinced that Ebico’s fair pricing policy will make a big difference for many of our customers who are struggling to pay for gas and electricity, particularly those paying on pre-payment meters.

“By only charging for the actual amount of energy used, customers will see a significant reduction in their energy bills.”

Unlike many energy providers Ebico’s specially designed tariff has no standing charge and just one flat rate per unit of energy
