As part of a national educational event that focuses on closing the current digital skills gap; digital agencies visited Upton-by-Chester High School.

Reckless, Blueleaf and R1 Digital went in to speak to lower sixth formers about the skills required and the different job roles that are available within the digital sector as part of ‘BIMA DDay’.

All three agencies talked about how they built their businesses from scratch and how they got to where they are today, working with a range of clients such as Red Bull, New Look and Reebok to name a few.

Each agency discussed the range of job roles available, such as strategists, developers, designers and project managers, which sparked interest in a lot of the 170 students taking part in the day.

Following on from this, the students spent the day thinking up their own ideas for apps, products and social media campaigns.

They then had to develop their ideas into business plans with the help of the agency professionals and then pitch their products back to them at the end of the day.
