Experienced childcare duo provide ‘mobile nursery’ for events

WHEN two Tarporley friends gave birth to their sons in just weeks of each other it sparked off an idea.

Growing up in the same village, qualified childminders Lisa Wilson and Laura Heraty had known each other for years and but became close when Laura started dating Lisa’s husband’s best friend.

After both women had their children they came up with the idea that Cheshire had a niche for a ‘nursery on wheels’ which offers childcare services useful for weddings and corporate events.

Before long, Honey Bee Crèches was born, a business that prides itself on offering tailor-made packages to suit a range of events, giving children an exciting and stimulating environment.

Lisa and Laura, who between them have 28 years of experience in childcare, only employ fully qualified, CRB-checked and first aid trained staff, and offer babysitting services and event nannies for three children or less.

Lisa, 33, said: “We differ from the likes of a magician or other entertainer as we can be fully responsible for the children, so for corporate events or unspoilt speeches at weddings we are ideal.

“We provide all toys and equipment from birth to teens and each child’s individual likes and interests are met.

“We are also hoping to use our company to raise funds for local children’s charities and are currently thinking of trying to arrange our own wedding fair of local Tarporley-based small businesses in aid of Claire House at The Swan Hotel.”

She added: “We are hoping for our business to grow in the future and hopefully be able to help some charities, which would be fantastic as it fits in with our own busy family lives.

“The feedback we have been getting from brides-to-be from wedding fairs is that they’ve never heard of this facility before and many are unaware it exists, so we are also working on trying to advertise what we do to as many people as possible.”

Lisa and Laura will be holding a charity wedding fair at The Swan in Tarporley on Sunday, March 17, from 11am-3pm.
