A shop in Saltney has won Chester MP Stephen Mosley’s second annual Small Business Awards.
Owner of Chester St’s fancy dress and accessories shop Be Dazzled Bazaar Jeanette Foden Shahin-Ajerlo was presented with a certificate by Mr Mosley to celebrate her hard work.
Nominations have flooded in over the last few months but right from the outset the store was a clear front runner. Opened in 2012, it has gone from strength to strength expanding into the adjacent unit in November last year.
Nominations included recommendations from customers who said: “It has a fantastic selection and anything out of stock is quickly ordered with Jeanette letting us know when it arrives.”
Another added: “Be Dazzled Bazaar is a treasure trove of fancy dress clothes and accessories for all occasions.”
Mr Mosley said: “I’d like to say a really well done to Jeanette. Her huge selection of fancy dress and dance outfits are fantastic and a real life saver for parents looking for specific party outfits or students dressing up for a night out. I popped in myself just before Christmas to pick up a Princess Elsa outfit as a Christmas present for my niece.
“I was staggered by the response to my second small business awards. Both my post box and email inbox have been inundated with well over 1,000 nominations for over 400 Chester based small businesses.
“Chester’s small businesses are the lifeblood of our local economy. Our independent retail shops like Be Dazzled Bazaar add diversity and vibrancy to our local high streets – giving Chester real appeal, both to local shoppers and tourists. Our non-retail businesses, whether they’re run from a rented office or the owner’s home, are the engine room of growth for our city – and I’m proud to champion them with awards like this as the Prime Minister’s Small Business Ambassador.”
Jeanette said: “After only two years of trading, I was delighted that my customers nominated my shop for outstanding customer service.
“My staff and I always try to wow customers with stunning choices of costumes, novelties and dancewear and by listening to their requirements we stock the shop accordingly, as well as making arrangements for special orders were possible.
“I wish to thank all those customers who voted for Be Dazzled Bazaar with such positive comments. I appreciate your support as a small independent retailer on the high street”.
