A doctor and his wife have come to the rescue of a landmark building in Chester.

Ryan and Karen Hamdy have opened Madison Spa and Renew Clinic at 51 Hoole Road creating five new jobs.

The Grade II listed building was formerly occupied by Dove Spa which went into administration.

The pair who run Madison Spa and Renew Clinics at Nantwich and Alderley Edge, have carried out a sympathetic restoration scheme which includes five treatment rooms.

Under the same roof is the Renew Clinic where Dr Hamdy, a facial aesthetics expert, performs a variety of age-defying procedures including wrinkle relaxants, fillers, peels and the latest ‘Dracula’ rejuvenation technique which involves injecting blood from a patient into areas of concern.

Wife, Karen, a former nurse, said: “Many of our Nantwich clients come to us from Chester and we had been looking to expand into the city for sometime.

“When we heard about the closure of Dove Spa, we made contact with the administrators and things then moved pretty quickly.

“It’s a lovely Georgian building and we are delighted to have offered jobs to a team of talented beauty therapists from the local area.”

Staying onboard as manager is former Dove employee, Lita Phipps, who helped welcome more than 200 people to a launch day where 100 was raised for Breakthrough Breast Cancer, the company’s chosen charity.

Various beauty demonstrations took place using Decleor and Guinot products as well as St Tropez tanning, semi permanent make-up, deep massage and the Caci non-surgical face-lift.
