It may mean the difference of only one letter, but a new B&M store will open in Ellesmere Port in the old B&Q site.

The current B&M store on Marina Walk will close on Saturday, May 7 and will be replaced by a much larger store, complete with its own garden centre, on the Station Road site.

The new store will open its doors for the first time on Wednesday, May 11 at 9am, creating 52 new jobs for local people and transferring 23 people from the existing B&M store.

The news follows hot on the heels of the recent B&M store openings on Sealand Road in Chester and in Bromorough, bringing the total number of jobs created by the company in the area to more than 200 in the last year.

B&M is one of the UK’s fastest growing retailers in the UK and customers can expect to find a wide variety of branded and own label products including toys, food & drink, pet products, health & beauty and electricals.

The store will also boast an extensive DIY, decorating and furniture range, homeware collections and a large garden centre.

Manager Toni England said: “We’re feeling really positive about the creation of more jobs for local people and we hope customers are going to be delighted with the much larger store.

“With more space we can bring in a large DIY and decorating collection, lots of gardening items and an even bigger range of furniture.

“We are all really excited to get the doors open and welcome our customers through the doors next month.”
