Employees at M&S Bank in Chester have donated a wide range of food items to West Cheshire Foodbank to support members of the community over the festive period.
Employees collected cupboard staples such as tins, long life milk, soups and pasta, with the bank also donating 100 Christmas cakes and 200 tins of canned goods to the appeal.
Development officer at West Cheshire Foodbank Alec Spencer said: “The number of people needing to visit West Cheshire Foodbank continues to rise, year-on-year, and we’re currently supporting about 450 people every month.
“The generous donations from the team at M&S Bank will go a long way to help those who may find themselves in need this Christmas.”
CEO at M&S Bank Sue Fox said: “We were delighted to once again be supporting our local food bank with a pre-Christmas appeal this year. Everyone across the business has done a fantastic job collecting items for the Foodbank, I’m really proud and grateful for their support.”
West Cheshire Foodbank is part of the Trussell Trust which provides nutritionally balanced food packs to local people in crisis.
