Capenhurst Nuclear Services (CNS) welcomed Ellesmere Port and Neston MP Andrew Miller to visit their facilities and present Tom Rodaway with his award for Apprentice of the Year.

The visit, which coincided with CNS’s one year anniversary, provided a useful opportunity for the team to take Mr Miller on a guided tour of the facility and give an update on progress made by the company since its formation on November 30, 2012.

In recognition of the company’s one year anniversary, CNS has announced that 5,000 has been donated to local charities, which were selected by CNS employees.

Mr Miller said: “I enjoyed visiting CNS following the company’s one year anniversary and am impressed with what I have seen and the people I have met there.

“The company is currently doing some very interesting work and making a valuable contribution to the UK’s nuclear industry.

“Many congratulations to Tom Rodaway for being named CNS Apprentice of the Year. It was a pleasure to present Tom with his award and I wish him and everyone at CNS every success for the future.”

Tom Rodaway said: “I’m absolutely delighted to have been named CNS’s very first Apprentice of the Year and receive recognition for my work.

“It’s great to see CNS go from strength to strength and it’s good to be part of a company playing an important role in the nuclear industry.”

David Slater, managing director of CNS, said: “Tom’s award and the visit by Andrew Miller MP caps a very important and successful year for CNS.

“The company has made great progress over the past year and we look forward to future success in 2014.”
