Chester-based credit card firm MBNA is a great place to work - it’s official.

The company has achieved a top 20 position in the large company category in the latest Great Place to Work rankings, in only its second year of participating in the survey.

The position was confirmed at an awards ceremony held in London on Monday, May 2.

Through Great Place to Work, MBNA surveyed its employees on their views and opinions about life at the company. It is an entirely confidential survey open to all employees. The survey examines employees’ relationships with the company, their colleagues, and the work itself, as well as measure levels of engagement.

MBNA chief executive Ian O’Doherty said: “We’re extremely proud to be officially named as a ‘Great Place to Work’, and this highlights the progress we have made. Over the past four years, we’ve been through a period of major transformation, and this external recognition shows the unique approach we take at MBNA is working well. With nearly 90 per cent of our employees participating in the survey, this is something for everyone to celebrate and will sit nicely alongside our MoneyFacts Credit Card Provider of the Year hat trick of awards.”
